Pre-Workout in Nepal

Pre-workout is the least standardised category in sports nutrition. Some products are a straightforward caffeine and beta-alanine blend; others pile on a dozen ingredients at doses that do not add up to much. Learning to read the panel is the whole skill.

Before you buy

What actually matters.

Caffeine does most of the work

Most pre-workout effects come from caffeine. A labelled dose of 150–300 mg is a common single-serving range.

Beta-alanine causes tingling

The harmless prickling many people feel is beta-alanine. It is not an allergy — but it is a real reason some people avoid these products.

Timing matters more than the formula

Most products work best 20–30 minutes before training, and doing so late in the evening can genuinely disrupt sleep.

Quick checklist

Before you tap order.

  • Read the full panel before anything else, and look for doses rather than ingredient names on the front.
  • Check the caffeine amount against anything else you drink on training day — coffees and energy drinks add up fast.
  • If a formula lists 20 ingredients, check whether each one is at a meaningful dose or just a sprinkle.
  • Start with half a serving when trying something new.

All FAQs →

Should a beginner take pre-workout?

Not necessarily. If you are new to training, a cup of coffee before the session does much of the same job at a fraction of the cost. Pre-workout makes the most sense once you are training consistently and want more energy or focus for a specific session.

Is pre-workout bad for sleep?

Caffeine has a long half-life. A serving six hours before bed can still affect sleep quality for many people, and poor sleep works against recovery. If you train in the evening, either take it earlier or choose a stimulant-free formula.

What is a stimulant-free pre-workout?

It is a formula without caffeine or similar stimulants, usually built around ingredients such as citrulline, betaine and tyrosine. You will not get the same jolt, which is the point — it is for people who train late or react badly to caffeine.
